EOFY - End of Financial Year 2009-2010

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Manaaki Solutions Limited like most other businesses are arriving to the EOFY [End of Financial Year]. So what does that mean??

Well it means that we get to finish our financial year 2009-2010 and begin a new year starting 1st of April 2010. Consider the excitment and hype on the 1st of January everyone with fireworks and family fun, yip that's what the 1st of April can be for businesses.

The financial guantlet, or otherwise known as the "recession", hit everyone and no-one escaped the tremors of the financial challenge. Some had to close their doors of their business and you just need to walk through shopping malls or down main streets of towns and see the shops that were once there, are no longer.

Hari Huri Tau Ki A Manaaki Solutions - Happy Birthday To Manaaki Solutions

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
We turned 4 today, yes, Manaaki Solutions is 4 years old today 18th February 2010. We started 4 years ago when our ManaakiNet Manager wired our 1 laptop to our 1 server [an old PC] sitting on a table that my husband made out of doors that we had taken down from our house. Actually the doors were from my son's room and to date they still have not been replaced.

My things have changed, we moved from 1 room, to another room, to another floor and then to another location [we opened our Paihia office in 2007]. And last year we opened our Whangarei office. We have stunning people whom have joined our Manaaki Solutions whanau.

Tomorrow is another day and we continue to grow our business and make it happen.

Planning, planning, planning and more planning - followed by ACTION......

Planning

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Last year we began blogging for Maori in business and actually the tips we were giving applied to anyone in business. And this year we will be putting up more blogs as we go through.

One of the tips we gave was the importance of planning. Planning is an essential tool for any business, the plan doesnt have to be a 12 point 200 page glossy document, gee, it could be on the back of napkin, or a shopping receipt. Whatever it is, it must be YOUR plan and cover the key areas of your business.

Tai Tokerau Wahine Maori Leadership Forum - 2010

Wahine Maori

Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
On the 4th of February the Tai Tokerau Wahine Maori Leadership Forum was convened at our Paihia Office. It was a wonderful afternoon of celebration and inspiration.

Anne Hui, La-Verne King & Maria-Meno Kapa- Kingi were our inspriational speakers for the 3rd annual hui. The theme for the hui was "The Realities of Coming Home". And they all spoke so honestly and encouraging of their return to their "homelands".

We were entertained by a new and up & coming musian Tayler Barker whom was just so stunning and we enjoyed viewing artworks by various artists from around Tai Tokerau.
